WATCH: Daryl Mitchell’s six breaks a fan’s glass of beer in Trent Bridge – ENG vs NZ 2022, 2nd Test
New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell, who smashed a brilliant hundred in the second innings of the first Test against England, continued his rich vein of form in the ongoing second Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
The 31-year-old hit 190 (318) with the help of 23 fours and 4 gigantic sixes in the first essay after England skipper Ben Stokes asked the Black Caps to bat first.
Just like the second innings of the Lord’s Test, Mitchell and Tom Blundell (106 off 198) came to New Zealand’s rescue, adding a 236-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
New Zealand posted 553 runs on the board in their first essay with Mitchell and Blundell scoring fruitful tons.
Apart from entertaining the crowd with his classy strokes, Mitchell also hit a six which landed straight into a fan’s glass of beer. The incident happened in the 56th over, bowled by England off-spinner Jack Leach.
