SRH vs RCB Match Report: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday (18th May) crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets in the 65th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The Faf du Plessis-led side kept their hopes for the playoffs alive after their staggering performance.

After being enforced to bat on, although Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost two early wickets but Heinrich Klaasen along with skipper Aiden Markram (18) steadied the ship and bailed their side out of trouble. They stitched 76 runs partnership before the captain was back in the hut.

But the keeper-batter continued his carnage on the RCB bowlers as he slammed his maiden century in the IPL and smashed 104 runs. Before Harry Brook stepped in and scored 27 runs in 19 balls to take SRH’s total to 186 runs.

Michael Bracewell found himself in the wickets column for Royal Challengers Bangalore as he removed Abishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi both in the 5th over. Before Shahbaz Ahmed rattled the stumps of Aiden Markram. Harshal Patel deceived centurion Klaasen with the slower ball in the 19th over and it’s fair to say that it cost SRH a few more runs in the end.

SRH vs RCB Match Report: Royal Challengers Bangalore innings

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s innings were filled with full of class as Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis batted exceptionally well and made SRH bowlers look clueless. They smashed 172 runs for the opening partnership, which potentially won the game for the team.

While Virat Kohli slammed his 6th century in the IPL and ended with the knock of 100 runs off 63 balls, skipper Faf du Plessis registered 71 runs in 47 balls. Glenn Maxwell (5) and Michael Bracewell (4*) then provided the finishing touches and ended the game for his side to climb to the fourth spot in the points table.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, every bowler was taken to the cleaners. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan managed to take one wicket each as they suffered another disappointing loss in the IPL.
