Shubman Gill has already played in the U19 World Cup. In 2018, he played a starring role in India’s victorious campaign at the U19 World Cup, finishing the competition as the second-highest run-scorer. The right-handed batsman is now a key member of India’s ODI team and will be looking to make a big impression in his maiden senior World Cup appearance.

A dream come true moment for Shubman Gill:

Ahead of playing in the ICC World Cup 2023, Shubman Gill has revealed that he has been dreaming of playing in the competition and lifting the trophy ever since he was a young kid. “Playing the World Cup has always been (a dream), (it is) every child’s dream. It is my dream to play to represent India in the World Cup. The journey so far has nothing been short of a dream, nothing short of a fairytale,” Shubman Gill told Star Sports.

“As you keep performing, your expectations from yourself keep increasing. My expectations from myself is to give my maximum effort at every stage.
