RCB crushed SRH by 8 wickets while chasing down a 187-run target. Openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis led the way with their brilliant opening partnership of 172 runs. While Kohli (100 off 63) shattered an impeccable century, Plessis (71 off 47) stormed a quickfire fifty.

During the post-match press conference, RCB all-rounder Glenn Maxwell heaped praises on his team’s openers. The Aussie batter said that Kohli and Plessis exactly know what they want to do while chasing a target.
“When those guys are chasing, they know exactly what they want to do. The left-arm spin was turning from one end and not turning from the other. They knew when and whom to attack. It’s a great time for us to take on the table toppers at home”, Maxwell was quoted as saying during the post-match conference of SRH vs RCB clash.

Glenn Maxwell also feels that his team Royal Challengers Bangalore is peaking at the right moment. RCB bagged two huge wins in the last two encounters- crushing RR by 132 runs and outplaying SRH by 8 wickets.
“It’s been a long time on the road for us. We knew we had to be in a position from where we can be at a striking distance. We are peaking at the right time in the tournament. Klaasen’s knock was sensational. Some shots that he played through covers in the powerplay were great,” Maxwell further said.
“As soon as our bowlers bowled short, he punished them. Siraj went under 20 tonight with not much assistance from the surface. Parnell also bowled very well. Maybe we were one seamer short but credit to them for the way they bowled,” the Aussie star added.
With 14 points, RCB takes the 4th spot in IPL 2023 points table with one more match left against Gujarat Titans. RCB can qualify for playoffs but they face competition from Mumbai Indians. The Rohit Sharma-led side also has 14 points and one more match left in the league stage. However, RCB currently has a better net run rate than MI.
