After the knock, Virat Kohli said that he doesn’t like to add too many new things to his game and just back the shots he is good at. Commentator Aaron Finch loved his comments about this strategy.

Virat Kohli shattered his 6th IPL century in SRH vs RCB clash of IPL 2023. Chasing 187 for victory, Kohli attacked the bowlers from the start and hit 100 runs off 63 balls. He slammed 4 sixes and 12 boundaries during his knock, batting at a strike rate of 158+. RCB also won the match by 8 wickets in the end.

“I Loved What Virat Kohli Said: Aaron Finch

Speaking about Virat Kohli’s knock on Star Sports, former Australian skipper Aaron Finch said he loved what the RCB player spoke about not playing fancy shots and adding new things into his game.

“I love what he said there about playing 12 months in a year and not having time to go away and practice new shots. He is always in game mode and the with ability to add different shots to your game; people have to understand that to do that something else goes away from your game,” Finch said.

Aaron Finch also believes that one cannot keep adding and adding to one’s game every day since it doesn’t work that way.

“You just can’t keep adding and adding to your game. It just doesn’t add up. For him to say ‘I play true to myself, I play true to the situation and I try and win every game for my team’, Finch further said.

During the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli said that he doesn’t want to play fancy shots all the time and throw his wicket.

“It’s not about playing fancy shots and throwing my wicket away. We’ve got Test cricket (coming up) after the IPL, have to stay true to my technique,” Kohli had said after getting the player of the match award.

RCB defeated SRH by 8 wickets to grab the 4th spot in the points table with 14 points. They are tied with Mumbai Indians who also have 14 points but a lower run-rate. Both teams have one more match to play in the league stage of IPL 2023.
