Veteran leg-spinner Pravin Tambe was left emotional after watching his biopic along with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad.

Notably, the movie ‘Kaun Pravin Tambe?’ was officially released on Friday on the Disney+Hotstar platform. Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade has played the lead role. The movie reveals who exactly is Tambe and how did he make his debut in professional cricket.

The official Twitter handle of KKR shared a video where Tambe was seen watching the movie along with the KKR players and staff. The Mumbaikar then got up to speak a few words but choked up as he became emotional.

“I just want to say…….,” said Tambe before tearing up. The KKR players then applauded to encourage the veteran spinner. “Just never give up on your dreams. Dreams do come true. Really, dreams do come true,” added Tambe after gathering his composure.

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer also shared his views after the screening, stating the movie is amazing, and it made him emotional as well.

“We were waiting for the screening for a long time. The film is amazing. The songs are good, and in the end, the film made us very emotional as well,” said Iyer.

Tambe balanced his day job and cricket at the same time during his initial years of struggle and found it challenging to make a cut in any domestic team. However, he kept trying and was eventually roped in by Rajasthan Royals (RR) scout ahead of the 2013 IPL.

Tambe grabbed headlines straight away after he made his IPL debut at the age of 41. In 2014, the leggie took a hattrick against KKR. He finished the season as the Royals’ highest wicket-taker with 15 scalps to his name and then plied his trade for teams like Gujarat Lions (GL) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) down the years.

In 2020, Tambe became the first Indian player to feature in Caribbean Premier League (CPL), representing Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) and winning the title.
