The CVC Capitals-owned IPL franchise is going to be named Ahmedabad Titans (AT).

The Ahmedabad management unveiled the name on their social media accounts. The announcement got delayed because the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL Governing Council were in the process of reviewing CVC Capitals ownership – thinking of them being in partnership with a European betting company. However, the privilege has now been cleared and AT is all set to be one of the newest IPL teams.

CVC Capital bagged the IPL deal for INR 5625 crores and have already acquired the services of Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan as their three retentions ahead of the mega auction.

Former India international, Ashish Nehra will be the head coach of the team. He will be teaming up with South African legend Gary Kirsten who was appointed mentor last week and ex-England international Vikram Solanki will be the team’s Director of Cricket.

So far, T10 Sports, Aaj Tak, Amity and Zee Anmol have been signed up as the sponsors of Ahmedabad Titans.
