Introduction about India Won the 4th test against England

Team India won the 4th test against England and with this win, Team India is leading the series by 3-1. Well, impressive enough, right? As a vivid sports lover, we didn’t miss a single thing from the match. Let’s dive into the details of the match and stay with sprintersgames.in to get all the sports updates on time.

This test series is very important for the whole Indian cricket arena because this test series has helped many fresh talents secure their place in the test team. Senior players such as Virat Kohli, Md. Shami, KL Rahul, Jadeja etc. missed various matches or the whole series due to various reasons and fresh talents like Sarfraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rajat Patidar, etc. got their way to Team India.

Starting the day at 40/0 in pursuit of 192, India overcame a few stumbling blocks to secure victory. Captain Rohit Sharma (55 off 81 balls) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (37 off 44 balls) found the pillars of the victory and the rest of the team made the palace over it. In this case, it is important to mention that this series belonged to Yashasvi Jaiswal. He has amassed 655 runs. Jaiswal’s idea of a failure is making 37. His series average is 94.

Although there were tense moments after their dismissals, as Rajat Patidar and Ravindra Jadeja fell quickly, Shubman Gill (52 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out) took the baton & guiding India across the finish line with an unbeaten 72-run partnership.

Let’s focus on wicketkeeper batter Dhruv Jurel. He played a brilliant innings to lead India to the series victory against England at Ranchi. Veteran Indian players seemed very impressed with his performance and even credited the same to his Army background. Former Indian batter Suresh Raina said that Dhruv Jurel’s “fearless attitude” on the field comes from his Army upbringing.

Although it is a fact that Dhruv Jurel has made us speechless with his talents, however, we must say that his luck was not with him on day 3 of the 4th test. He got dismissed on 90 runs. The batter received a standing ovation from the crowd on Day 3. On Day 4, Dhruv Jurel stood strong with Shubman Gill under pressure and steered India’s innings to a 5-wicket victory at Ranchi.

We can’t deny that the England team also worked hard. Left-arm spinner Tom Hartley (1/64) took the prized scalp of Rohit. Shoaib Bashir was the most successful English bowler. He made an 8 wicket haul.

Do you know how much this win is special for Team India? Well, this win is the 17th consecutive series win of Team India on home soil. Well, that’s not all. There an another reason. The other reason is that this consecutive win of Team India or the host country is a big blow to the concept of ‘Bazball’, which has been a much-hyped winning mantra for England in 2022.

The much-hyped “Bazball” concept is now getting badly slammed for being too rigid and for not having the right depth. Conceptualised after the appointment of Brendon McCullum as coach and Ben Stokes as the captain as the best decision to tackle strong opponents like Team India. The first win against Team India also helped in strengthening the concept. However, the concept is not working anymore.

In the case of the first win, it can assumed that the absence of senior players like Virat Kohli made a huge impact on the team. Well, not only that but also KL Rahul was also absent from the team and this huge void led to a defeat.

After the bad loss, BCCI took the baton and introduced fresh talents like batter Sarfaraz Khan in Rajkot or wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel and Akash Deep, and the whole team got energised.

Take of senior players:

Suresh Raina has praised Dhruv Jurel openly. “I was impressed with his (Jurel’s) wicket-keeping, he has worked really hard. He comes from an Army family, so he has that fearless attitude of never wanting to lose anything from anywhere,” Suresh Raina said while speaking about the young player.

“He’s (Jurel) been amazing, I have played a couple of matches with him for Uttar Pradesh. Special credit to Rohit Sharma, for the way he gave chances to Sarfaraz (Khan) and Dhruv Jurel. It is not easy to come into Test cricket and score back-to-back fifties, especially in a crucial Test match where the wicket was turning,” Suresh Raina added.

“YES!!! A phenomenal series win by our young team. Showed grit, determination, and resilience. @BCCI,” Kohli posted on X.

Manoj Tiewary wrote on X, “A fantastic series win for India! Excellent performance by all the juniors and seniors. Captain @ImRo45 led the team incredibly well again. @ShubmanGill played a gem of an innings and Dhruv Jurel is a player to watch out for in the future! A phenomenal test match!”

Robin Uthappa wrote, “Phew, what a match! Incredible composure from @dhruvjurel21and @ShubmanGill. Fantastic win to seal the series! Safe to say that this young bunch is making Indian cricket so solid.”

Former Team India all-rounder Wasim Jaffer wrote “A series win for the ages. Well played Team India. So good to see the youngsters thrive under pressure.”

Final words: India Won the 4th test against England

Team India has played extraordinarily and they have proved that “Bazball” is nothing but a buzz.
