Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Anrich Nortje praised his fellow teammate Kuldeep Yadav and termed him a standout bowler in the 15-run victory over the Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala on Wednesday, May 17. Anrich Nortje apologized to Kuldeep Yadav for the sloppy fielding, where they dropped two catches in his bowling.
Kuldeep Yadav impressed with his bowling on a batting surface and finished with 21 runs in his three overs. Kuldeep went wicketless in the match, but two catches were dropped in his spell. Nortje dropped a sitter off Liam Livingstone at deep midwicket, while Yash Dull failed to grab the catch in Kuldeep’s next over.

Kuldeep Was Our Standout Bowler – Anrich Nortje
Speaking at the presentation ceremony after the game, Anrich Nortje said that Kuldeep Yadav should’ve picked up more wickets in the match, but drop catches didn’t help him.
“I must say Kuldeep was our standout bowler tonight and we didn’t help him by dropping the catches,” Nortje said.

Anrich Nortje bowled a brilliant over in the Punjab innings, which had an impact on the outcome of the catch. The right-arm pacer conceded just 5 runs in the penultimate over of the match when PBKS needed 38 runs off 12 balls. He picked up the wicket of Sam Curran and ran out Harpreet Brar on the next ball.

Just Tried To Use The Conditions – Anrich Nortje
The South African pacer said that Dharamshala is one of the best venues in the world, which provides help for the fast bowlers. Nortje said that he just tried to make the most of the conditions while bowling in the match.
“When we got here, it was nice to see some grass here and it is one of the best venues in the world. Just tried to use the conditions while we bowled. I was just trying to be focused in the death overs.”

“Nowadays, the guys are set up for the full-paced balls. So have to use the slower ones but not too often. I can assess the conditions better while playing here in India,” Nortje concluded.
The David Warner-led team climbed to 9th place in the 10-team points table, registering their 5th victory of the season. The Delhi based franchise will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last league match at their home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium, on Saturday, May 20.
